Frankenstein's Monster

Custom Minimate figure Custom Minimate figure

Did you know Mary Shelly's "Frankenstein" is in the public domain? That means anyone can make their own version of Frankenstein without infringing on pesky copyright laws. Marvel Comics knew that, and that's why in the 1970's the Frankenstein's Monster was introduced into the Marvel Universe.

Marvel's Frankenstein's Monster comic started as a direct retelling of the original story, then switched to all new stories starring Frankie (as his friends call him). Frankie puttered around for a few years, not really making much of an impact in the comic world. He's still out there somewhere, wondering why Dracula doesn't return his calls.

The Recipe

Frankenstein's Monster is made from a repainted Minimate. His face is a digital printout and his hair is made from Sculpey. Frank's furry vest is made from a New X-Men Wolverine jacket reworked with Magic Sculpt.
