Inspired by Captain America, the Soviet Union started their own super-soldier program, hoping to create their own living embodiment of Communist values. The first Red Guardian was Alexi Shostakov, husband to the Black Widow. Trained to be utterly ruthless, he nonetheless met with failure on his first mission against the Black Widow and Captain America. Go USA!

While a great villain for Captain America in the 60's, The Red Guardian has not aged well since the fall of Communism, much like Yakov Smirnoff's comedy or Gorbachev forehead birthmark tattoos.

The Recipe

The Red Guardian is made from a repainted Captain America Minimate. His helmet is made from a modified Cap cowl with a Magic Sculpt fin. His shield is a repainted Invisible Woman shield.
