I like the wacky killer robot called Ultron. And I wanted an Ultron Minimate. But if I made one, then Diamond Select would release an Ultron Minimate because fate mocks me. The solution: I make my own version of Ultron.

The one consistant thing in Ultron's many forms over the years has been his face with unique metallic grin. So, with a traditional Ultron face and a pile of parts, I created "Strongarms" Ultron - a version designed for brute physical strength. He's a robot that could trade punches with Thor if it wanted to. But he doesn't, because he's a robot and physical combat is for inferior flesh-beings.

As I was working on "Strongarms" Ultron, Diamond did announce they were making a classic-styled Ultron. Take that, fate.

The Recipe

Ultron is made from a repainted Minimate. His chest details and face are made from water-transfer decals. His upper torso is covered with modified shoulder pads from a modern Cylon Minimate. His wrist bands are from a Street Fighter Minimate with additonal details added with Magic Sculpt. His boots and arm-bands were made from Magic Sculpt.
