Venus Dee Milo's mutant power of teleportation emerged as a large explosion that apparently killed her family and reduced her body to pure energy. Eventually a containment suit was fashioned so that she could have a physical form again.

Venus auditioned to fill U-Go Girl's spot on the media-obsessed mutant team X-Statix. She was met with resistance from team member the Orphan, but eventually the two warmed up to each other and started a romantic relationship. She then discovered that she had not killed her family, but transported them to a different dimension. Things were looking great for Venus until she was killed in the ill-fated last X-Statix mission.

The Recipe

Venus Dee Milo was made from a repainted Minimate. Her hair made from Sculpey, her face is a water-transfer decal, and her X-Statix logo is a digital printout. I created the "Kirby dots" energy dots that make up her shoulders by using a set of clear arms with carefully painted black dots.
