In a fantastic accident at sea, ship worker Morrie Bench was transformed into living water! His body could change from liquid to solid, making him virtually indestructible! He could shoot jets of water like he was a fire hose! Morrie now had the power to take what he wanted and do what he wanted. And in his first battle with Spider-Man, he lost when Spidey used a really hot day to evaporate him.
And that kicked off Hydro-Man's long career of failures. Even with his tremendous abilities, Hydro-Man is just not smart enough to effectively use his powers. Hydro-Man usually ends up working for super-villain groups like the Sinister Syndicate or the Frightful Four, and getting beaten a lot.
