Lonnie Lincoln was born an albino in Harlem, which made it tough to make friends. Alienated, he ended up becoming involved in crime, and over the years became a successful hit man and enforcer for the Mob. He eventually crossed paths with Robbie Richardson, the only person he had considered a "friend" from his high school years. When he assaulted Robbie to Spider-Man hunted down Tombstone
Tombstone would gain super-human powers when be exposed to an experimental preservative gas during a fight with Spider-Man. Instead of killing him, the gas mutated Tombstone, giving him superhuman strength and near-invulnerability. Even with his super powers, Tombstone keeps being beaten by Spider-Man. And Daredevil. And the Avengers. Even Darkhawk beat him once.
