Teenager Bobby Drake hid his mutant power to create ice, but was forced to use it in public to stop a bully. Upon seeing his powers, the locals considered him a threat and locked him in jail. Through the intervention of Professor Charles Xavier and Cyclops, Bobby was rescued from being lynched. Grateful, Bobby joined Professor X's first class of X-Men as the snowy mutant Iceman!

Iceman is a majorly-repainted Minimate. His snowy texture comes from mixing white glue, white paint and fine grit sand together, then applying it thickly to the Minimate.
