Abused as a child, Jane developed multiple personalities to deal with the trauma - 64 personalities total. Which is bad, but when each personality developed super powers, it became an overwhelming situation. Jane met and became friends with Robotman, who helped her through many of her personal conflicts. She ended up becoming a member of the Vertigo-era Doom Patrol.
