This custom was created for a customizing contest where the requirements was that the custom use no extra parts or accessories, like hair or capes. After rejecting a few ideas, I came up with an idea of using comic book panels and creating a collage all over the Minimate. Using an old Wizard magazine, I collected tiny pieces of art from Marvel Comics, then tried to fit them together on the Minimate body like a horribly odd jigsaw puzzle. Using decoupage techniques, I attached the pieces to the body, covering everything I could.
I didn't come close to finishing the custom in time for the contest - I only got halfway thought before I was distracted another project. But I liked what I had done enough to come back some months later and finish him.
