When I took the Calico Raiders pirate ship out of its package, my oldest daughter Faye noticed. She said she wanted to look at it, so I let her have it. She ended up commandeering the ship from me that night and making it a cruise ship for her toys. If I ever wanted to play with my own pirate ship, I was going to have to get one for Faye. One extra ship purchase and a bunch of pink paint later, I gave Faye her very own ship. And she loved it.

The Recipe

The Pretty Pirate Ship is made for a repainted Minimate Calico Raiders Pirate Ship. I went with two different shades of pink because that is what Faye likes, with gold and silver paint for the details. The paint job is a little rough in places, but since I'm handing this to a four-year-old, I wasn't concerned with making this flawless. This ship has new sails made from pink felt, thanks to an assist from my wife.
